TSRS, K-MAC Sports To Provide Fans Free Internet Race Broadcasts!
March 18, 2006 will not only be Opening Day but it will also be a historic day for the Austin-based Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) at Houston Motorsports Park (HMP).
That's because TSRS, owned and founded by Mary Ann Naumann of MAN Racing Promotions, will team up with Austin-based K-MAC Sports Productions to provide the first-ever Internet replay broadcasts of TSRS races – which, for the 2006 season, will take place with all TSRS races at HMP, including the March 18th season opener. The other two dates for TSRS broadcasts at HMP are scheduled for Aug. 19 and Oct. 21.
The broadcasts will allow TSRS fans all over the world to listen to the replay of TSRS races for free. Fans can simply go to www.kmacsports.com, click on the link that will be provided for each race, then listen to the broadcast on the web site.
K-MAC Sports, founded and owned by Kevin McAdams and Chuck Licata, broadcast high school football games for the Round Rock and Leander independent school districts, as well as Pflugerville Connally High School, last fall. K-MAC Sports reported “hit” numbers of over 25,000 per week by the time the football broadcasts ended in November – pretty good, considering last fall was the launch of the Internet broadcasts.
K-MAC Sports just finished putting out themotorsportszone.com, the web site for The Motorsports Zone radio show.
“We're excited to branch out to auto racing, and in particular with TSRS series and local racing,” said McAdams, K-MAC Sports partner and Operations Manager. “The web site, plus themotorsportszone.com web site, has already averaged over 17,000 hits per week in our limited involvement with the radio show and with Robert Richardson Racing (of NASCAR's Craftsman Truck Series) and their title sponsor, Benchmark Mortgage. This is an opportunity for K-MAC Sports to blaze a new trail with Mary Ann and her great series, in hopes it will not only benefit our two organizations but it will turn out to be a long-term benefit for the local racing scene in Texas.”
Licata, host of The Motorsports Zone (on KVET-AM 1300, Austin) and announcer for both TSRS and Thunder Hill Raceway in 2006, will handle the play-by-play chores of the broadcasts. Licata did play-by-play for the now-defunct Texas Speed TV Show with Trace Allee back in the early-1990's. The search is on for a color analyst.
“We're obviously excited about this opportunity for the series, but I believe our sponsors will benefit from the broadcasts,” Naumann added. “We can now offer them visibility not only at the race track and in our race program, but now they'll have a chance to gain exposure for their company and products through Internet broadcasts, which is truly the 'wave of the
future' in sports broadcasting.”
