GENTLEMEN, START YOUR ENGINES...THE 2008 SEASON IS GOING TO BE BETTER THAN EVER!

Hang on to your harness! TSRS will blow you over with its adrenaline charged schedule for the 2008 season!. This column plans on taking you behind the scenes and introducing some fantastic drivers with the need for speed, as well as special events!

If you've never been to one of the TSRS events, let me tell you - they start out quietly enough, usually with a solemn invocation, praying for safety, wisdom and good sportsmanship. Then an enthusiastic crowd remains standing, caps in hand, for “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Then a buzz builds around the racetrack as the track marshal shouts into a microphone, “GENTLEMEN, START YOUR ENGINES!” Then the TSRS drivers flip their ignition switches and the thunder rolls!

This is racing at its finest, and TSRS will be there!

Question: When was the first automobile race held in the United States?
